ODB hooks up with the Neptunes for Operator

Posted By on June 13, 2003

The Ol’ Dirty Bastard has been produced by the Neptunes, the song is called “Operator,” and it’s the first song to be recorded after his release from prison. The song was recorded in no time, the reason is because ODB has a probation curfew of twelve o’clock midnight, working with Pharrel Williams made life easy and they finished the song in about an hour and a half, just in time.

At eleven at night they were still working and ODB’s manager was starting to feel a little uneasy, “Pharrel, we only have seven minutes left,” he said, “we need to wrap it up ASAP.”

ODB smiled when he left the studio at eleven-twenty,”Now that’s the way you make history. That’s the shit that will rock the parties.”

“One side of me is so happy that he’s out and we’re making music again,” said Williams about ODB,”But, at the same time, I’m so mad that we didn’t get a chance to sign him. Dirty is such a fuckin’ star!”
