Resident Evil 4
Gamecube
January 11, 2004
Humid Rating:
8/10
|
The fourth RE game to be released on Nintendo GameCube and PS2. The title takes place in 2004 some six years after the events that transpired in Resident Evil 2. The government has destroyed the Umbrella Corporation; Leon is on a top-secret mission to investigate the disappearance of the President’s daughter and has made his way to a mysterious location in Europe. As always there will be spine tingling sound effects and eye candy graphics this looks more stunning than any of the other Resident Evil games. So what’s new?
– Unsurpassed visuals with breathtaking 3D graphics and effects
– Behind the camera view follows Leon’s every move and allows for intuitive movement
– Never before seen enemies with advanced AI
– Enhanced aim and shoot features
– Innovative “A” action button allows players to perform various actions
Capcom looks to be pushing this series to the next level and will continue to take the RE Series from strength to strength

The Getaway: Black Monday
PS2
January 11, 2004
Humid Preview Rating:
5.5/10
|
The Getaway: Black Monday has three main characters each with their own storyline there’s Ben Mitchell a bad cop, Danny an east end ex-boxer and Sam a Hacker/Fraudster. As with the first game the action takes place in London and each story is based over 48 in-game hours
You would think in the time they’ve had to make this game they would have learned from previous mistakes but no, like the entire Getaway series the control system is so bad you may as well use your elbows and the camera’s will make you bring your dinner back up. All in all The Getaway: Black Monday has failed to live up to the good storylines I’d avoid this game or at most rent it. I can see bargain sections being full of pre-owned versions within weeks.
